This straight-through performance pipe replaces the factory
exhaust catalyst/ mid pipe (between the header and rear muffler).
Bolts up directly to your existing manifold (or Shorty header) and
rear muffler offering a quick and easy solution to gain maximum
exhaust flow. All hanger placements follow factory mounting points
for compatibility with other modifications..
The exhaust tone produced is a sporty mellow tone at low RPMs,
giving way to a distinct racy growl at wide open throttle. Built in
resonator helps pass DB limitations on many tracts that now enforce
volume restrictions.
Weighing in at just 28lbs, this performance-enhancer also shaves
some 30% off the stock catalyst it replaces.
NOTEs:
-Fits:
1992 - 1998 E36 325i / 328i,
1995 - 1999 E36 M3 (not suitable for automatic models)
On E36 M3; oxygen sensor simulators or a 'Race' ECU tune is
required to properly eliminate a 'check engine light' whenever the
catalytic converters are removed. Please consult with a VAC tech
for solutions.
