This is a complete Street and Sport kit to fit
the BMW E28, E24 and E12 (including M5 & M6)!
It offers an excellent blend of performance, as well as great
pricing for the enthusiast...
This coil-over kit gives you the option to customize the ride
height of your vehicle. After several years of use in racing
applications, and by popular demand; Ground Control coilover kits
have been expertly adapted for a wide range of street use or dual
used proposes!
Most other spring & shock kits offer only one set height and
ride when installed. The Ground Control system's unique design
allows for easy adjustment. Simply lift the corner (s) of the
vehicle that you wish to adjust and spin the adjustable spring seat
up or down to raise or lower the vehicle. Rebound damping is simple
to adjust to fine tune performance and ride quality to your
liking.

Streetable ride height change / adjustment from
0 to -2 inches.
VAC Tech Notes: that for ride highest Lower than 2 inches
can cause rear alignment problems and excessive suspension geometry
changes (Lowering more than 2" is recommended for cosmetics only,
and can hurt performance). If you wish to lower more than 2" on a
non M-car model, we recommend:

For Customers who wish to have the most comfort and
performance at low ride heights, we recommend going with option B
or C, to allow proper suspension travel if you plan to keep the
ride height low when street driving.

Springs: All of our ride
height adjustable kits exclusively feature Ground Control springs,
manufactured by Eibach USA. A broad selection of street spring
rates are available. All Eibach / GC springs offer a lifetime
warranty against spring rate change and sagging. Eibach springs are
used on all of our VAC cars and we trust them implicitly.
Adjusters:
All adjusters consist of a threaded sleeve and adjustable spring
seat and are made using high strength 6061-T6 aluminum; anodized
for greater durability and appearance. The threads on the adjusters
are square cut which locks the adjustable spring seat in place
under load. For further precaution, a setscrew in the adjustable
spring seat can be used to secure adjustment. Upper spring perches
are used to insulate the spring.
Rear-Upper Shock Mounts: Billet aluminum rear
upper mounts eliminate the failure prone stock pieces and allow a
more predictable & sporty Koni adjustable shock. Bumps stops
are provided and assembled. Urethane upper spring pads are used to
insulate the spring.
Dampers/ Shocks: The shocks and struts in this GC kit
are not the standard off-the-shelf Koni. The front struts are
adjustable from the top, and are shortened with special valving
designed by Ground Control. The rear shocks have a slightly more
aggressive valving compared to off the shelf Konis, but still offer
streetable damping like the front struts.
Bump Stops: This kit
includes four Ground Control bumpstops, designed and manufactured
for GC, and matched to your springs.
Camber Plates:
Ground controls brand new 2010 revision Touring Camber / Caster
Plates feature waterproof, German-made,
axial load steering bearings and feature:
• Unique slot design allows for caster correction.
• Revolutionary caster adjustment that can be locked or
unlocked.
• Urethane center mounts reduce NVH, yet do not flex.
• All components plated or anodized for corrosion resistance.
• Zinc plated mounting bracket for ease of install and
adjustment. Adds extra travel to avoid excessive
bottoming out, this is a very well engineered product. .
Camber and caster are separately adjustable by sliding the mounts,
without removing any components from the car.
About Front Strut
Housing Options:
Ooption A, B,
C: This kit is priced to use either a shortened front
strut or standard length front strut. There is no PARTS price
difference, however there is labor involved. GC can provide
directions for you to prepare your front strut housings yourself,
or VAC sends your spindles to GC to coil-over, shorten, reinforce,
and powder-coat your strut housings for $190 a pair.
