Light weight= more to the ground!
Your stock flywheel weights range from approximately 24-29lbs on
the E36... Ouch, HEAVY! This has a huge impact on the S50/S52
US engines as they are typically characterized as not having true
"M Car" throttle response.
The US spec E36 M3 engine is really a
GREAT motor, but can
feel sluggish with the heavy OE flywheel.
This light weight JB Racing Flywheel is only 11 Lbs, and offers
lightning fast upshifts and down shifts, amazing improvement in
throttle response, durability, and more power to the ground by
reduced rotating mass.... From our feedback, many customers have
told us a light weight flywheel and clutch was "The best
bang-for-the-buck money I have spent on my car".

VAC Tech Tips:
-This flywheel is larger than std M50 & M52. It will actually
fit M50 & M52 engines and the 325/328 transmission when used
along with an E36 M3 clutch kit.
-A "mid-weight" steel version of this flywheel is available below.
PLEASE NOTE:
-Light weight flywheels do not have heavy damping like the OE
flywheel. You will notice the improved performance immediately but
a typical side effect is some light "chatter" noise at idle (when
the clutch is not depressed). This is not-a-defect, but is the
nature of the way BMWs transmissions are designed.
While this is not usually a problem for the enthusiast, if you are
sensitive to noise please be aware of this. We recommend matching
this to a clutchmasters flywheel kit with a sprung hub; this can
alleviate most noise.
