We say that each War Chip is basically a BMW "dyno tuning shop" in a box:
Included is your "WAR" (write-and-remap) reprogrammable chip, a USB interface cable, and your Tune Control Module (more on this later).
The rest is simple; download WAR software from the Miller Performance home page (that now includes instructions and most start-up maps), and your ready to fine tune your BMW for all the goodies you have installed to or inside your engine!

The 'Tune Control Module' feature allows you to upload up to 4 different  ECU maps into the WAR Chip, and select them from a switch you can install within reach of the drivers seat. Different maps for different fuels and conditions are finally available on your factory ECU.

  1. It really is the last chip you need!

  The W.A.R. Chip can change as your car changes. No longer are you stuck with a tune that isn't meant for you specific application. Instead of buying a suitable performance chip every time you update the configuration of your car infinitely, you can modify the tune yourself with the W.A.R. Chip editing software or download a specific tune from Miller, or another even another WAR chip user! The W.A.R. Chip gives you flexibility that is impossible with traditional chips. Add a camshaft or a VAC Cylinder head: no problem! Simply map your new modifications on the WAR software and now your ECU is dialed in to get improved performance and reliability you paid for. Turbocharged? Fit larger injectors and program for boost! The possibilities are simply great with this product.

  With the W.A.R. Chip being infinitely reprogrammable, you can perfect the tune of your engine and make the most power possible from the OE ECU. Generic software works, but it is designed for a wide range of cars.   The W.A.R. Chip stores up to 4 different Tunes at one time. Many people love the idea of having different tunes available for different situations. For example, one might track their car on the weekends, and drive it daily during the week. With the W.A.R. Chip you can have different tunes saved, and ready to use for different fuel.
  Storing an aggressive ‘race tune’ for use with high octane race fuel , a ‘street performance’ tune for pump fuel and daily use, or even a ‘best fuel economy’ tune… just for some examples. There are many combinations you can create! Low octane, Aggressive street, Valet... the list goes on.
  How do you switch the tunes? EASY! With the included in-cockpit Tune Command Module (TCM) you can switch between the 4 tunes in real time without a laptop, and without having to shut the car off. Very cool.

  4. No need for aftermarket engine management.

  The W.A.R. Chip provides control and flexibility once designated to aftermarket stand alone ECU's only. Many people convert to stand alone systems or use piggy backs for the lack of control they have with their factory ECU. Others have custom chips “burnt” after dyno runs from tuners like us at VAC. The best news of all is that the W.A.R. Chip puts that control and flexibility in the palm of your hand so you can quickly and easily switch tunes, and reprogram your ECU to meet your needs whenever necessary.
  With the W.A.R. Chip, you have full control over fuel and spark for all driving conditions, idle, part throttle and wide open throttle. You can set your idle speeds, rev limits, O2 sensor control and so much more. The W.A.R. Chip lets you use your stock ECU, saving you time and money; the instances where a standalone ECU is a must have are now greatly reduced to only a few situations.

  Each WAR chip now includes a volume of startup maps included in the WAR for Windows software so you can start driving or tuning your WAR chip as soon as you install it. All maps have been created on Millers Mustang Dyno, and tested on running vehicles to ensure safety. Starting with a base map also saves you time and money on the Dyno! While these tunes are not intended to be a solution for immediately driving your car, they can help you start at a much closer point that having to make a startup map yourself.
