Modern Cooling for This Fast Classic
Chances are, unless your M3 is in absolutely tip top shape, the
past 20 years may have taken an invisible toll on your cooling
system.
Many times, your clutch fan dies slowly; it is difficult to notice
this happening.
Your radiator and other components fill with scale and build-up
over years of use.
Your OEM electric fan wiring may have (common to E30's) corrosion,
or have lost its resistor and may have totally lost
functionality.
If you track your car, want to eliminate the ugly and tired clutch
fan, let your engine rev freely at high RPMs, or just want to
update to newer technology, our VAC Electric Fan Kit fits these
needs.
- This kit greatly reduces your risk of temperature related
problems and eliminates the parasitic loss and noise of the clutch
fan that is noticeable when your S14 revs high.
- This kit also eliminates the chance of the old fan shearing off
and damaging the radiator, all while giving your engine bay a
clean, up to date appearance, eliminating the bulky OEM fan
shroud.
- Track car or street car, you can enjoy your S14 with confidence
knowing it's kept cool and safe.
- Less stress is placed on the water pump, possibly extending its
life.
Our Kits Are Available In 2
Different Packages
Brackets, Hardware kit & SPAL Fan: VAC laser-jet cut
stainless steel brackets, hardware, and 14" SPAL fan. Install as
you see fit (Trigger by switch or add the low temp sensor if you
want to trigger by temperature; DIY wiring is required)
Brackets, Hardware, SPAL Fan, & (Image 2) our PnP
harness: VAC laser-jet cut stainless steel brackets, hardware,
14" SPAL fan and our dual fused plug-and-play harness that allows
you to simply plug into the low temp switch and your electric fan
will actuate all by itself, only when needed! By clicking the box
for temp switch, you receive a specific OE BMW temp sensor that
actuates at the correct (lower) temperature and directly replaces
the OE M3 sensor in just seconds. Performance and safety with a
clean installed appearance and perfect modern automated
functionality. (Harness is made to order, please allow a few days
before shipping)
**Optional & Recommended**
- Low-Temp Sensor Kit (to trigger electric fan based on no clutch
fan, this is needed for PnP harness to work at the correct
temperatures)
- Water Pump / Clutch Fan Nut (cover): for good looks and to
protect water pump threads after removing clutch fan. This simple
piece makes the job look clean.
VAC Technicians Notes & Tips:
There are many different ways to install your fan kit (thermostatic
switch, toggle switch, tapping the factory fitted electric fan
wires).
No specific instructions are included; professional installation
based on your unique needs and wants is recommended. We do not
recommend wiring to the OEM fan wiring without a relay as it is not
rated for the additional load. We can highly recommend using
our Plug and Play Harness kit and low temp sensor as this is the
safest choice and offers fully automated functionality just as if
this was an OEM product!
