Our VAC High Performance BMW Valve Springs are a dual-spring
interference design that is made from H-11 Alloy, a metal often
used for highly stressed structural parts (such as aircraft landing
gear) that also offers resistance to thermal fatigue.
Each spring is shot-peened for stress relief and dual-interference
fit to control harmonic resonance across the rev range.
In our dual spring configuration, should something happen to one
spring, the other can prevent the valve from dropping and causing
catastrophic engine damage.
VAC Steel Alloy retainers work perfect wether competitively
racing or daily driving. They offer excellent weight reduction Vs.
stock retainers, and are extremely strong. This is the choice for a
street car, or an owner that wants to go multiple seasons or years
without opening the engine for inspection or tear down.
VAC Titanium Retainers offer an extremely light weight
choice for racers that are determined to maximize performance down
to each gram of the valvetrain. Ideal for very high RPM extreme
race & sprint use. When do you want to select Ti retainers? A
good indicator is when you plan to switch to solid lifters or are
building an all out race engine that will be regularly
inspected.
These kits have worked flawlessly with every camshaft we have
ever installed, including those from Schrick, VAC, Sunbelt, Cat,
and others. From the reliable and winning results of thousands of
our spring assembles, we can say confidently this represents the
best set available for your BMW at any price.
Please note that because we engineered this set from a clean
design; springs retainers and seats are all sold together as the
superior dual spring arrangement must be used with the correct
retainers and seats together and are not compatible with OEM
seats/retainers, therefore springs are not available separately
other than for replacements.
This kit features:
- 16 VAC dual-interference springs capable of extreme 12,000 RPM
for that added piece of mind (Racing, Over-rev/Mis-shift, etc)
- 16 VAC Titanium or Hardened Steel Alloy Valve Retainers (not
shown)
- 16 VAC Spring Seats (not shown)
With precise specs and consistent quality, these springs are
capable of revving to 12,000 RPM for added peace of mind and
maximum performance. We have been using our VAC series of springs
in our World Challenge Touring Car, GT3 car, C-Mod E36 'Silver
bullet', thousands of race engines, and street engines for years
with nothing but excellent results.
