Designed to fight problems
VF realized the stock intake tube and therefore OE intake diameter is retained for most of the intake track as the factory MAF sensor is a critical part of the ECU system. Other intake kits vary diameter dramatically, negatively effecting proper calibration of the MAF and actually loosing horsepower over the OE intake.
VF's engineers still manage to increase the filter inlet diameter whenever possible as well as fight the number one enemy under the hood: engine heat. Totally encompassing the filter element along with a cold air snorkel to eliminate typical problems faced by other 'cold air systems' from other manufactures.
