The VAC Motorsports E30 Bump Steer Correction (Tie Rod) Kit is truly unique.

The VAC manufactured Outer Stud is made of 4140HT Alloy Steel to the exact taper of your BMW spindle. The taper on our stud is the most critical part of the kit. This precision matched taper eliminates the play that other kits have, which ultimately enhances the fit and increase the strength of the stud.

How did we manage such precision? We captured the exact taper by using our Faro Laser Scanner and fine-tuned the design in MasterCam then finally machined on our Okuma Lathe.

Although we supply only one long 4140 Alloy Spacer, the kit technically is still an Adjustable Bump Steer Kit. With our extensive Bump Steer Testing on various cars we came to the conclusion that the longest space is required to get the setting close to Zero Bump Steer.

The Street plates use a proprietary upper perch that can reuse the stock spring insulator, and are a work of art, carved from a single piece of billet aluminum.

Fitting entirely within stock reinforcements, the Street plates offer a limited range of caster adjustment, allowing the car to be aligned and adjusted, but without enough range for experimentation. This is intentional because caster always changes the toe-in and bump steer, and the entire car must be realigned after adjusting. The Street camber plates allow for caster adjustment to compensate for factory deviations, but without allowing the caster to be adjusted to a specification that is out of the comfort zone of a driver who is not used to the pitfalls of experimentation and testing.

Hybrid
