Our custom VAC/ARP S14 Head Bolt set is made exclusively for VAC to meet OE Spec and beyond.
Per our request, ARP designed and manufactured these Head Bolts to be direct replacement for the OE S14 Head Bolts.
These bolts can be torqued to OE Spec using the OE Torque Pattern and provide the same ease of mind that the OE S14 Head Bolts would provide.
In addition, our VAC/ARP S14 Head Bolts can provide additional torque for those wanting to clamp their cylinder heads down beyond OE torque in forced induction applications.

Beware - OEM head bolt washers

I ordered two sets of these bolts and fitted one set on an engine in situ using OEM washers. When I was fitting the second set I carefully checked the fit of the washer against the bolt head and found that they DO NOT sit flush against the underside of the bolt head which is a major issue. I have now compared these bolts against OEM bolts and there is a critical difference. The OEM bolts have an undercut at the base of the bolt head whereas the VAC/ARP version does not and instead has a protruding radius. The result is that OEM washers sit proud of the underside of the VAC bolts but sit flat on OEM bolts. The solution is to machine a chamfer in the OEM washers. I am now faced with a full engine strip down to address this issue on the first engine. VAC supply no fitting instructions and sell these as OEM replacement items which they are not.
