At this price, you must be thinking "those are regrinds"; all Cat Cams are made from brand new fine-grade European blanks, never ever regrinds. Problems associated with smaller base circles are no worry with Cat's M30 cams.

If you plan on revving your M30 hard, VAC always recommends High Performance Valve Springs even with mild camshaft upgrades. This insures our customers always get the best performance and reliability from their engine by helping prevent pistons-to-valve contact in the event of an over-rev or mis-shift.
M30 Camshaft Snout Styles
Carburated: Used in Early M30 engines with distributors, from 08/1981 and earlier, including the E9, E12, and E24 chassis. Snout has two crescent shaped prongs
L-Jetronic: Mid-Era E30’s from 09/1981 to 01/1984. Snout has one crescent shaped prong
Motronic: Used in Later M30’s, from 01/1984 on. Snout is flat with dowel pin hole
