OS Giken clutches are made to very tight tolerances and is the reason why we offer separately forged billet center alignment tools to eliminate the slack found commonly from plastic center alignment tools.

These tools imitate the transmission input shaft to provide tight fitment to the pilot bushing/bearing to prevent sag often found installing multi-plate clutches. This is very important as misaligned clutch plates can lead to difficult re-installation of the transmission. Transmission hangup can create leverage on the clutch plates which in turn leads to warped discs (misinstall).

When installing a multi-plate clutch kit, it is important to ensure that the clutch discs are aligned straight and true to the pilot/bearing of the flywheel or crank. Because performance clutches are made with very tight clearances, it is important that your alignment tool eliminates the slack found in many plastic alternatives. This is why we created the VAC Steel Clutch Alignment Tool.

By imitating the form of the factory transmission input shaft splines and providing a more exact fitment to the pilot bushing/bearing, the VAC Motorsports Steel Clutch Alignment Tool prevents the sag/misalignment often found when installing multi-plate clutches.

With properly aligned clutch discs, transmission re-installation is significantly easier and prevents damaging discs during installation.

4-Paddle Metallic Clutch Discs

Lower inertia than full-circle discs, but have a slightly higher wear rate. The smooth radius between the friction segments also lowers core plate stress caused by misalignment between the engine & transmission and/or engine harmonics, minimizing core plate cracking.
7.25″ discs feature an 8-rivet hub and 5.5″ discs feature a 6-rivet hub.
