Convert your E36 rear differential to a 210mm ring and pinion differential from the 7 Series.

The US E36 (M3 and 325/328) differential uses a 180mm ring gear. The Euro M3 used a 210mm ring gear which has been proven to be stronger than the standard US M3 differential. This bracket makes it possible to bolt in a differential from the E32 750i (or E34 M5) which has a 210mm ring gear. These differentials are commonly available in 3.15 limited slip as well as a 3.64 limited slip and a 3.73 LSD from the M5...and best of all, they are inexpensive to buy. The total upgrade cost with differential can sometimes be paid for by selling your stock E36 limited slip differential.

Differential Kit includes Everything seen in the pictures. All you need to add is the differential and about an hour of fabrication work!

Requires removal of stock front mount and welding of new bracket to subframe.

Pricing Update. We have had to raise prices because BMW no longer sells the Euro Differential factory cast rear bracket here in the U.S.A. We now have a billet machined rear bracket which is much stronger...but of course costs more to make.

This is same bullet-proof construction we use for our 5-speed version, but now available in a 6-speed model.

BMW NA no longer sells the factory 6-speed Euro M3 transmission cross-member in the US, so we made them available.

How to not rip the subframe off your new M3:

Our solid mount kit is ideal for track, race, and extreme performance street vehicles. Does not harm ride quality but may add a bit of noise.

By mounting the differential using solid mounts, you can eliminate the damage causing torquing and twisting between the diff and subframe, as such, the VAC Aluminum Differential Mount Kit is designed to unitize the differential housing and the subframe on the E9X M3.

The result: improved driver feel and feedback, enhanced reliability, and elimination of sub-frame tearing and chassis damage that can occur when these mounts fail during hard track driving!

VAC Tech Tip:

We have already seen damage occur from this failure using street tires. If you drive your E9X M3 on the track, we can recommend this upgrade.

Our VAC Solid Differential Mount Kit is designed to unitize the differential housing and the chassis.

By mounting the diff using solid mounts, you eliminate all torquing and twisting of the diff-housing within the subframe; this results in improved driver feedback, improved lap times, and better reliability eliminating many troublesome front mount-bolt and mounting tab failures. Our solid mount kit is ideal for track, race, and extreme performance street vehicles with high grip tires.

VAC Tech Tip:
Despite their solid construction, we have customers that use these in their street driven E46's. Keep in mind, ride quality is not significantly compromised, however significant additional gear noise will be transmitted to the cabin in trade off for more strength.
