TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

• Threaded Ring Gear Bolts - 60 ft lbs using Red Loctite®

• Thrubolts - 35 ft lbs

• Pinion Retaining Plate Bolts - 25 ft lbs

• Seal Plate Bolts - 20 ft lbs

• Left Bell Adjuster Screw-Snug up, back off 1/4 turn,use red thread lock on jam nut.

BREAK-IN PROCEDURE

As with any new or rebuilt product, be it an engine,transmission or rear end, it is important to avoid prematurewear on the gears and bearings by avoiding full throttle loadsand high RPM conditions for at least 20 miles. Start break-in at30% power and gradually increase not to exceed 80% power.Drain and refill the gear lube in both the rear end and thequick change gear cavity to the proper oil levels with the carsitting level (over filling will cause excessive heat).Winters recommends the continued use of Winters P/N 1730with Moly, semi-synthetic lubricant or Mobil 1® 70-90 weightfor the life of your rear end.

From our differential building and racing experience, a cool running diff is a crucial part of a vehicle that sees high performance use. M3s and 1Ms shouldn't have all the fun: We are now offering our awesome custom made differential cover for your 135 and 335!

BMW will tell you that in the stock configuration, gear oil is a "life-time" fill, sadly that nonsense helps them skirt costs and leave the same gear oil in your car forever. This frustration is compounded by the fact that the OE diff cover doesn't even have drain and fill plugs so the end user can do a swap themselves!

Under hard use, LSDs equipped diffs can run very hot, even the OS Giken diffs have been known to heat gear oil to extreme temps under track use. Our finned cover is stronger, and offers much better heat dissipation that these cars need when going to the track.

Now you can change fluid any time you like for longevity and protect your expensive aftermarket differential. A worthy upgrade for your E82, E87 E90, E92, E93 LSD setup.

Differential temperatures will rise during high performance track and drift applications. When these oil temps get too high, you will experience performance loss and risk CDF (Catastrophic Differential Failure).

The best way to control these critical temperatures is with proper cooling via the VAC Differential Cooler Kit. A properly installed cooling kit will reduce differential wear, increasing the life of limited-slip clutches and general wear components.

This kit can be installed underneath or inside the trunk and is supplied with:

- Tilton Oil Pump

- Mocal Heat Exchanger Element

- All Fittings Necessary to Complete Install

- (1) 10ft ft. length of #8 Aeroquip Hose

- Install Instructions

Hoses do not come pre-assembled, allowing for custom fitment. Please note that many 2006+ non-M BMW models are only fitted with fill-plugs and require a M22x1.5 bung welded in place of a drain-plug.

Common applications include high performance BMW E30, E36, E46, E9X 335i, and E9X M3 models.

This kit screws directly into the fill and drain plugs of your BMWs differential, requiring no modification to the diff housing for simple installation.
