The Tall cockpit handle allows for proper racing ergonomics, this assembly allows for the quickest, most effortless shifts to limit the possibility of missing a gear and having that expensive MONEY SHIFT!!!

We've worked our tails off to create the most refined race shifter option for the BMW community at an affordable price and are pumped to bring this to market! The entire experience from install to use has been optimized through rigorous R&D and countless rounds of prototypes and evaluation.

We've installed and used all kinds of race shifters in our years of building BMW's for track and race duty and knew there was room to improve the offering. Features like one person install capability, an integral boot to seal off the tunnel, fitment within stock consoles, and sealed ball bearings throughout for long term maintenance free operation are just the start with this shifter. The adjustable side travel stops and centering location let you dial in this shifter exactly to your application while the height positions the shifter optimally for quick shifts and less time with hands off the wheel. The cast aluminum base has been FEA optimized to ensure rigidity for the long haul at the lightest weight possible, we've really pulled out all the stops on this one.

A few notes on installation:

Shifter locates on a factory hole in the unibody on E36, E46, and E90/2 chassis. Drilling of two small holes on these chassis is required for mounting.
Captured fasteners provide anti-rotation features for the mounting bolts allowing for installation to be accomplished by one person

TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

• Threaded Ring Gear Bolts - 60 ft lbs using Red Loctite®

• Thrubolts - 35 ft lbs

• Pinion Retaining Plate Bolts - 25 ft lbs

• Seal Plate Bolts - 20 ft lbs

• Left Bell Adjuster Screw-Snug up, back off 1/4 turn,use red thread lock on jam nut.

BREAK-IN PROCEDURE

As with any new or rebuilt product, be it an engine,transmission or rear end, it is important to avoid prematurewear on the gears and bearings by avoiding full throttle loadsand high RPM conditions for at least 20 miles. Start break-in at30% power and gradually increase not to exceed 80% power.Drain and refill the gear lube in both the rear end and thequick change gear cavity to the proper oil levels with the carsitting level (over filling will cause excessive heat).Winters recommends the continued use of Winters P/N 1730with Moly, semi-synthetic lubricant or Mobil 1® 70-90 weightfor the life of your rear end.

Wisefab Dynamic Halfshaft Axles can hold 1500hp and offer outstanding reliability. Wisefab designed the axle shaft strength to be just a little below the strength of differential output shafts. Their axles use CV joints with low wear and high strength.

As expensive drivetrain components become common place in most rally, drift, and race cars, it is important to create a system between them that helps with their longevity. The key is superior shaft material that not only has high-yield strength, but can also survive deformations or twists.

In the case when some part in a drivetrain has to give, Wisefab shafts will take the abuse. Wisefab shafts will flex to absorb the excess of critical torque. In these situations, Wisefab shafts can twist to at least 90 degrees, often times reaching 180 degrees or even 360 degrees without failure, allowing you to finish your race in one piece.

Keep in mind that any twisting won’t happen until the torque limit has been reached. If your shafts do twist more than 90 degrees, it is recommended to replace the shaft.
