The GiroDisc system provides a hassle-free solution as a direct replacement for the factory disc. Customers can install the GiroDisc system without any modifications, as it bolts directly to the car and seamlessly integrates with OE calipers. By opting for these lightweight high-performance replacements instead of a big brake kit, drivers can maintain their factory bias and ABS efficiency.
The central hat section of the rotor is meticulously crafted using 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum sourced exclusively from the United States. Our proprietary cast iron, poured and machined in-house at GiroDisc, forms the disc itself. To ensure efficient cooling, the rotor features 48 curved directional vanes, derived from racing technology, acting as a centrifugal pump that effectively directs cooling air through the disc.
For secure and reliable performance, the rotor and hat utilize a floating mount system. This system incorporates 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured to our precise specifications by GiroDisc in the USA and treated with cadmium plating to enhance corrosion resistance. These pins bear the braking load while maintaining the necessary axial and radial float between the hat and disc. Class 12.9 cap screws, along with hardened washers, secure the pins in place. To prevent noise during cold starts, anti-noise spring washers are mounted on the rotor side of the pins, allowing for expansion with heat while eliminating unwanted rattling commonly associated with floating rotors. Moreover, this floating design facilitates self-centering between the pads, ensuring optimal performance.
With the GiroDisc system in place, customers can simply replace the cast iron rotor as needed, making maintenance straightforward and efficient.
Please note that the GiroDisc system is sold and priced per pair for your convenience.
