This Steering Wheel Hub Adapter allows removal of your factory steering wheel and installation of your MOMO wheel, and retains both the horn button function as well as proper turn signal auto shut-off.

Suitable for both street and track use

Made in Italy using high grade steel & aluminum. Proven quality for 40+ years. Momo’s hub adapter will fit the most common 6-bolt steering pattern with a bolt spacing of 2.75 inches or 70mm. This includes MOMO, Sparco, OMP, NRG, Isotta and others.

This truly plug and play kit will convert the manual sequential 997 CUP gearbox (G97) to a Paddle operated system! Drivers’ hands can stay on the steering wheel, and clutch usage during race is no longer needed, due to the clutch-less shift system. These benefits will result in quicker and more constant lap times during the race. Another major advantage is the reduction of gearbox wear.

Plug and play

KMP has developed a ‘Plug and play’ Porsche paddleshift kit. All components are designed to fit directly into a Porsche 996/997 CUP car. It is not needed to design brackets, solder cables or to do any kind of engineering. The motorsport quality wiring harness can be connected straight into the existing Porsche harness. Due to the plug and play method, it is very easy to take out the system and restore the car in original state.

The paddleshift kit also includes a communication cable and user friendly software. After installation, a KMP support engineer can remotely log in and do the initial paddleshift setup together with you or your mechanic.

Different options

Most systems are installed with a gearbox mounted shift cylinder, so the gear lever can be removed. The R-N-1 safety is set by the clutch pressure. It is only possible to shift to N or 1st when the clutch is pressed. If preferred, the shift cylinder can be mounted on the gear lever as well. With this setup it is still possible to manually shift gears as well.

Porsche 997 CUP MY07-08
This model year has two buttons on the steering wheel. The throttle body is a GEN1 style. The blip cylinder will be mounted on the foot throttle pedal. It might be possible the throttle body has been upgraded to a MY09 style. If this is the case, a MY09 kit can be ordered. Please verify if your Porsche has a GEN1 Style throttle body.

Porsche 997 CUP MY09
This model year has two buttons on the steering wheel. The throttle body is a GEN2 style. The blip cylinder will be mounted directly on the throttle body. Please verify your Porsche has a GEN2 Style throttle body

Porsche 997 CUP MY10
This model year has a 6 button steering wheel with toggle switch. The throttle body is a GEN2, which means the blip cylinder will be mounted on the throttle body.

The paddleshift system is originally designed as a universal pneumatic shifting system for sequential gearboxes. The drivers’ hands can stay on the steering wheel during the shift and there is no need for using the clutch or heel-and-toe. The system will control each shift with high precision.

Paddleshift components

The GCU (Gearbox control unit) is a sophisticated stand-alone controller with user friendly software. KMP has developed a compact central unit which holds the GCU, 800cc accumulator, pressure relief valve, pressure sensor and three valves (Up, down, blip). If the car has Electronic throttle (E-gas), and it is possible to use electronic blip, there will only be two valves in the central unit. The shift cylinder can be mounted directly on the gearbox or on the gear lever. The standard cylinder has a stroke of 50mm, but there are many different shift cylinders available. In case of cable operated throttle, there is a pedal mounted or throttle body mounted blip cylinder available.

Four different options

Besides the E-gas/cable operated throttle blip, there are two different kits available. The ready-to-install kit holds all necessary parts to install the paddleshift kit. The goodridge air hosing with adapters, high-spec wiring harness (Deutsch connectors and DR-25 sleeving with moulded boots), sandwich plate with 4 free to use buttons, paddles and curly cable and all necessary brackets are included in the ready-to-install kit. If you want to source your own mounting parts, we have ‘hardware only’ kit available as well. This kit includes the central unit, compressor, shift cylinder, blip cylinder and two paddles.
