Your stock flywheel weights range from approximately 24-29lbs on
the E36... Ouch, HEAVY! This has a huge impact on the S50/S52
US engines as they are typically characterized as not having true
"M Car" throttle response.
The US spec E36 M3 engine is really a GREAT motor, but
can feel sluggish with the heavy OE flywheel.

Light weight flywheels do not have heavy damping like the OE
flywheel. You will notice the improved performance immediately but
a typical side effect is some light "chatter" noise at idle. This
is not-a-defect, but is the nature of the way BMWs transmissions
are designed. This STEEL flywheel is "mid-weight" and will barely
make any noise when used with a sprung hub clutch. We
recommend matching this to a clutchmasters flywheel kit (with a
sprung hub) as an excellent match.
