Made of thinner walled stainless tubing, in a single 3" pipe design, weight is significantly reduced, even versus stainless aftermarket street parts. The 3" configuration also serves to maximize horsepower output as you do less accelerating in traffic and more wringing out the engine at the racetrack.
This System includes both a mid-section resonator and straight pipe, to reduce or increase volume as needed to meet sound limits or personal preference. V-band clamps are used throughout to make swapping out pieces or dropping the exhaust for maintenance or trackside repairs fast and easy - once installed, this exhaust can come off for typical work in minutes.
Optional front Y-Pipe uses a proper racing merge collector, and primary legs are designed, when combined with factory exhaust manifolds, to time exhaust gas pulses like a long-tube equal-length header. This section is a little more difficult to create and may look like a pair of snakes similar to higher-end headers, but the power output is a noticeable improvement (see dyno sheet with back to back tests of our Y versus a standard Y-pipe). Without optional Y-Pipe, the E36 Exhaust System will connect to several brands of long-tube header with a 2-bolt, 3" center flange.
Catalytic converters not included - off-road use only. Sure, you can use it on the street if you don't have emission laws in your state, but your neighbors and passengers may not approve.
Installation uses factory mounting points - necessary hardware included. Fits all 6-cylinder E36 cars, except compact chassis.
