Looking for high-quality camber plates that are designed to provide fast, repeatable alignment changes on the track? Look no further than Ground Control Racing Camber/Caster Plates for BMW E36 and Z3 Models.
These plates offer more camber adjustment than stock, along with caster adjustment, aircraft bearings, and engraved calibrated degrees. With stainless steel reinforcement and every component anodized or plated (including the fasteners), these plates are built to last under real-world conditions.
Race
For those looking to take their BMW E36 or Z3 to the track, the Ground Control Race Caster Camber plates are the perfect addition to improve performance. Legal for SCCA Improved Touring, Production, Street Prepared, and BMWCCA Prepared classes, these plates offer more camber adjustment than stock, caster adjustment, aircraft bearings, and are engraved with calibrated degrees. The stainless steel reinforcement prevents electrolysis between the steel fender and the aluminum camber plate, making it a very well-engineered product.
The Ground Control design also adds extra travel to avoid excessive bottoming out. Additionally, every component is anodized or plated, including fasteners. Camber and caster are separately adjustable by sliding the mounts, without removing any components from the car. The priority of this design is to allow fast, repeatable alignment changes at the track.
What sets the Ground Control camber plates apart is the two sets of bearings. The proprietary bearing made to their specs by Aurora in the USA allows for articulation of the shock shaft. This spherical bearing is very understressed, as the Ground Control design does NOT support the weight of the car on the spherical bearing. Instead, the weight of the car is supported by a completely separate articulating needle bearing, which is also manufactured for Ground Control in the USA.
Street
For dual-purpose cars, the Ground Control Street Caster Camber plates are the perfect choice. This special version of their camber/caster plates is toned down but still offers a range of center to about -3 degrees of adjustment (at lowered ride height) and can be reversed without any change in ride height. The Street plates use a proprietary upper perch that can reuse the stock spring insulator, and are a work of art, carved from a single piece of billet aluminum.
Fitting entirely within stock reinforcements, the Street plates offer a limited range of caster adjustment, allowing the car to be aligned and adjusted, but without enough range for experimentation. This is intentional because caster always changes the toe-in and bump steer, and the entire car must be realigned after adjusting. The Street camber plates allow for caster adjustment to compensate for factory deviations, but without allowing the caster to be adjusted to a specification that is out of the comfort zone of a driver who is not used to the pitfalls of experimentation and testing.
Hybrid
*CAN ONLY BE USED WITH 2.50" INNER DIAMETER SPRINGS*
The Ground Control Hybrid Caster Camber plates are another great choice for dual-purpose cars. With more camber adjustment than stock, caster adjustment, aircraft bearings, and engraved calibrated degrees, these plates use a proprietary upper perch with a urethane spring insulator. Every component is anodized or plated, including fasteners.
The Hybrid plates add extra travel to avoid excessive bottoming out, and the stainless steel reinforcement prevents electrolysis between the steel fender and the aluminum camber plate. Camber and caster are separately adjustable by sliding the mounts, without removing any components from the car, making for fast, repeatable alignment changes.
