Red Line Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluids are designed to provide excellent low-temperature shiftability and improved thermal stability over petroleum ATFs. These fluids provide a much lower viscosity at cold temperatures for quicker shifting and their balanced frictional characteristics provide smooth and consistent shifts over extended drain intervals. The superior stability compared to petroleum ATFs also allow high-temperature operation without varnishing valves and clutches, which leads to transmission failure.
D4 ATF
Red Line's most popular and versatile ATF; D4 is suitable for use where Dexron III, Dexron II, or Mercon fluids are recommended. D4 ATF is a fully-synthetic product designed to satisfy the improved low-temperature requirements which will be in the new Dexron IV specification, and the improved shear-stability requirements which will be part of the new Mercon specifications.
Superior stability compared to petroleum ATFs allows high-temperature operation without varnishing valves and clutches which ultimately leads to common transmission failures in high performance applications. Full synthetic formulation flows extremely well and keeps within an ideal viscosity best, providing improved shifting in cold weather.
Many Manual transmissions now call for ATF...
Red Line's D4 ATF also provides a GL-4 level of gear protection, making it a superior product for manual transmissions and transaxles like the Corvette's T-56 and several of BMWs manuals as well.
The balanced frictional characteristics provide smooth and consistent shifts even for extended drain intervals.
VAC Recommended for:- All Automatic BMWs and many others.
- Great for smoother shifting in manual transmission vehicles that suffer from very 'notchy' gearboxes in cold temps like E30 M3s.
- Vehicles that specify ATF in there manual transmission or a GL-4 fluid.
- Specialty lubricant intended for great results during high performance & heavy duty use
- Exceeds API GL-4
- Excellent choice in all BMWs that call for ATF, or suffer from extremely notchy shifting.
- Many early models use about 2 Liters, E36s on use 3.
