While other copy-cat designs sacrifice weight-savings, aesthetics, and driver/passenger-specific install to be cheap, our original FMA's allow you the perfect amount of adjustment for nearly any seat install.

Our Floor Mount Adapters allow you to mount Side Mounts from race seats, or Seat Sliders such as Sparco, Momo, or VAC brand. They do not allow factory seats or bottom mount seats to directly attach.

Order these for a e46 zhp. Bolted and installed race seat in 5 minutes. As they title says the build quality is solid and the black color is super nice and not an eye sore.

Pretty nice piece, could use improvement

For those of us with shorter legs, the center of the bracket that was hollowed out for lightness would have been more usefull if it had been drilled and tapped like the rest of the bracket. I ended up having to modify my mounts and that seems to me wasted flexibility. Otherwise they are solid and very nice pieces.

Have and will always love VAC's Seat Floor Mounts. Had a set in my e30 and now have a set in my e46. Design of them are just simple and perfect. The threaded holes are all clean cut and straight. I work at an Indy BMW Shop and we use your floor mounts in a lot of our race cars and we don't have any complaints.

Very good, but can be better

I liked the mounts, but would like to point out some aspects that could be improvised.

I installed the VAC mounts on my 95 e36 m3.
I had Momo starter race seats and their adapters. I had sliders pre-installed to the race seats.
I had taken these seats from my 911 GT3.

I couldnt install the sliders to the first hole on the adapters, as the rear aligned with a rectangular hole (cutout in the rear). I had to move a couple of holes back to get the rear to align with a threaded hole.
It would be nice to get Allen bolts vs the regular hex bolts. The hex bolts dont go in to some sliders as the width of some sliders is narrow and the hex head wont fit or rotate once seated.

Apart from these issues, I really liked the product. I would still recommend this product and the quality of the build.

There are unavoidable variations from manufacture to manufacture in seat install hardware. To make things easier, when used with our sliders and hardware, slight issues like this are avoided and everything fits together perfectly. Thanks!

Great mount

The mount itself is fantastic- I am 6' 5" tall and always have trouble sitting completely upright in my E36 M3 with a helmet. This seat mount allows me to sit normally in the car, I probably gained 2" of headroom with it.

That said, it took them a good 4 days from when I ordered for the mount to actually ship out. I feel like that could be better, or at least would have appreciated an email saying it would be a few days before it shipped. 4 Starts because of that.

A perfect product

Floor mount adapters were the perfect choice for my e36 sedan. Detail and layout is amazing, and offered an enormous amount of adjustability when installing my fixed back seats. You CANNOT go wrong with these.

Installation Instructions

VAC Floor Mount Adaptors Installation Instructions

Please use these instructions and guidelines to aid in the installation of your new product.

Your kit should include the following:

(2) Floor Mount Adapter “bars” - inner and outer

(4) Bolts- M8 x 1.25 x 25mm Hex Head

(4) Washers- 8mm ID, 24mm OD

(4) Wave washers- 8mm ID, 15mm OD

1. Please check that all components listed above have arrived in your box and are ready to be used. Look closely as some components may have shifted, or become mixed in with packing materials. If you are missing any components, please contact us right away.

2. For all BMW applications: If one Floor Mount Adapter bar is wider than the other, the widest bracket always mounts facing the outside of the car.

3. Begin to bolt our adapters to the floor first, keep them loose enough to move around a bit.

4. If you have maintained your original interior, carpet and insulation can compress down without any issues whatsoever. If you are not comfortable doing this, you can use a washer under each mounting location to space it up slightly.

5. Seat placement is a personal preference. If you’re aiming for best high performance ergonomics, a good outline to work within is one that keeps the driver fairly upright and comfortable. One that the pedals can be fully depressed without over extending the knee joint, and one that enables the driver to turn the wheel close to 180 degrees without taking their hands off the wheel (usually your elbows will be at, or close to, right-angles).

6. For the E36 and E46 cars the wide Floor Mount Adaptor mounts closest to the door.

7. Once you have found your location, you are ready to bolt your side brackets to the seat and set the seat down onto the floor mount adapters, again keep everything a little loose. If you have VAC side mount brackets (like in our Race Seat Installation Kit), skip to step #9.

8. At this step, if you have run out of adjustment room (if your side mount brackets are too wide for your floor pan), may we recommend our VAC Superior Side Mount brackets, made specially narrow for tight installs on most modern floor pans. If you have adequate clearance and room for comfortable placement of your seat, proceed on.

9. Eye up the closest holes to use on your seat and clearly mark them on the seat and bracket (we recommend using some masking tape for this job). Sometimes, depending on the manufacturer and type of your seat, an elongation of the holes in the side bracket may be required.

10. Once everything is assembled loosely and your seat is positioned where you want to use it, start to tighten the floor mount adapter bolts and then the side mount to floor mount adapter bolts in that order. You can then tighten your seat to the side mount brackets.

11. You are finished!   Test your seat mounts and seats for play, you should have none. Make sure everything is tightened properly and securely, and that you have left no tools in the vehicle.
