Not recommended w/o shroud

Additional information about this kit. I've been running it now for about 6mos, see previous review. Initially, the unit blew 3 relays before I changed the to a 15 amp fuse, and it has been working fine ever since. However, the engine overheats to the 3/4 mark when running the A/C. I believe this problem is exacerbated by the fan coming with no shroud to force all the air thru the radiator as did the oem fan/shroud. If you purchase this unit I would definitely recommend you install a shroud to aid in cooling. These can be purchased from many suppliers as well as ebay.

Shoddy wiring/nor recommended

I have no problem with the Spal fan. My objection is to the quality of workmanship on the electrical connections that VAC furnished with the kit . I found the wiring with the kit to be flimsy and not well constructed.
The first unit I purchased burned up the relay and fuse connections. VAC felt I did not have it well grounded, so I purchased a replacement, and grounded it per VAC's recommendation. The wiring with the fuse/relay holder was flimsily attached and several wires came out of their connections during the install and when replacing several relays. During the 6 months I've had the replacement installed, I've had to replace three relays, but not the fuses! Currently I've installed a lower rated fuse (15 amp vs 30 amp) and it continues to work. Some Spal literature recommends 15 amp fuses and some recommend 30 amp.
I'm still testing it with a 15 amp fuse installed.

Overall very well done. I like all of the hardware that the wiring harness was good also. Other than the lack of direction very kit overall.

Just received the electrical fan PnP Harness. The build quality of the harness is amazing! It's going to look good under the hood, and should function just the way it looks! I look foward to installing it and am very happy with the product and tech support I received from VAC!

Very happy with this kit...
I have installed the complete plug + play kit with the temp sensor and nut cover. Actuates flawlessly and quickly cools down the engine within a few seconds if the temps start to rise. Looks like a factory installed item and works just as well as if this was a 2010 model car.
Despite the cost its worth it. When I added it all up from various sources I couldn't have made anything this nice for less and it is of high quality. Thanks VAC
