At VAC Motorsports in historic Philadelphia, we take our sports as
seriously as our cars. That commitment to problem-solving is exactly
what led to the creation of our newest product: the VAC Motorsports OEM Seat Extender.
It all started when a 6'6" customer wanted to purchase a brand-new BMW X5,
but he quickly realized the factory seating position didn't provide
enough legroom. He reached out to us and asked if we could engineer a
solution that would allow him--and other tall BMW enthusiasts--to
comfortably enjoy their cars without compromising safety. The result? A Big Man Certified universal seat extender kit designed to give drivers the space they need.
Why You Need It
Driving with your seat too close to the steering wheel isn't just
uncomfortable--it can also be unsafe in the event of a crash. Our billet
aluminum seat extenders relocate the factory seat mounting points rearward by up to 4 inches (100mm), creating as much as 6 inches (150mm) of added legroom depending on seat adjustment. The result is a safer, more natural driving position while retaining OEM fit and finish.
Machined in-house from premium billet aluminum, these extenders bolt
directly into the factory mounting points for a quick and clean
installation. Whether you're daily driving, road-tripping, or pushing
limits on the track, you'll immediately notice the difference in
comfort, confidence, and control.

Installation Overview

Unbolt the factory seat from the floor (keep all wires connected).

Position VAC Seat Extenders in the OEM mounting locations.

Bolt adapters to the floor using factory hardware.

Slide the seat forward, secure the front bolts with the supplied 20mm hardware.

Install rear bolts with the included 30mm hardware and sliding T-nuts.

Tighten all 8 bolts to OEM torque specs.
-
Test for secure fitment -- no play should be present.
Total install time: About 30-45 minutes with basic tools.
