Due to bushing and bracket deflection of the accessories that can effect the S14 engine, belt miss-alignment can adversely affect belt life. Be sure to inspect your drive belts every 8-15,000 miles. Any sign of wear like: cracks, dry-rotting, missing teeth, or worn grooves, or "squeaky" noise or slipping; it's time for a new belt.
For best reliability, belts should be replaced on your S14 every 30k or 5 years, no longer.
