The Supra is back! This means that now is the perfect time to add a layer of protection to your B58 with the Mishimoto 2020+ Toyota Supra Baffled Oil Catch Can. The tag-team between Toyota and BMW resulted in a sleek new look for the A90 Supra, teeming with power, technology, and efficiency. However, the inevitable side effect of blow-by still found its way to this Supra, which will lead to carbon build-up on the intake valves, eventually slowing this Supra down.

Our catch can kit utilizes the proven engineering from the patent-pending Mishimoto 2-Port Compact Baffled Oil Catch Can complete with its 50-micron bronze filter and internal baffle to better separate the oil and fuel from crankcase vapors. The compact catch can is constructed from 6061 aluminum and sealed with Viton O-rings to stand up to anything the Supra can throw at it. This can mounts in line with the B58’s CCV system and defends the intercooler, intake system, and VANOS system from carbon build-up and helps maintain proper octane levels to reduce potential detonation.

The Mishimoto Toyota Supra Catch Can Kit includes two pre-molded, direct-fit hoses which require no modification to tie into the Supra’s CCV system. This installation kit was designed for most GM engines including LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LS7, L76, L99. This kit is not compatible with the LS4, LS9, and LSA.

Furthermore, the closed system prevents unwanted oil vapors from entering into the cabin. The custom bracket mounts to the front RH side of the cylinder head for compatiblity with most LS engines. These catch cans vent-to-engine permitting a true PCV system. The 2 catch cans function completely independent of each other and do NOT vent-to-atmosphere (VTA), thus are emissions and track legal. Closed loop systems remove the oil and sludge from the PCV gasses before it is routed to the engine to be burned. A closed loop system also promotes negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance. Furthermore, closed systems prevent unwanted oil vapors from entering the cabin.

One catch can plumbs inline with the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve and retains it's factory function. When the intake manifold pressure is close to or greater than atmospheric pressure, the PCV "check" valve closes and, thus, this hose experiences no flow. Conversely, the PCV hose will experience "metered" vacuum when the engine is idling, steady state cruising, and decelerating. This would normally draw unwanted crankcase vapor, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately after a high load run. Note: Because the Radium catch cans are pressure sealed, they are great for this boosted application so intake manifold connection is permitted. The hose and fittings for the PCV catch can are -6AN.

The other catch can plumbs inline with the CCV (crankcase vent) port experiences atmospheric pressure at low loads. But when the engine is at high load (WOT), this hose will experience blow-by flow from the crankcase. This would normally lead to oil and sludge accumulation in the air filter intake pipe. Oil accumulation will occur in the intercooler which lowers the thermal efficiency properties of the heat exchanger and leads to decreased performance. The hose and fittings for the CCV catch can are -8AN.

Because of the many OEM component variations for this chassis, 3 different brackets are included for optimal mounting. These multiple locations provide a solution for all RHD and LHD vehicles including those using a large single turbo, the stock twin turbos, the updated brake master cylinder, and even early models that have rear brake TRAC. All brackets use factory holes and integrate perfectly with the surrounding components. No cutting, drilling or permanent modification to the vehicle is required.

High-powered modified 4U-GSE and FA20A engines tend to generate excessive blow-by oil and gasses. In these cases, an ordinary small catch can may quickly fill with oil and not be adequate. Like the Radium Engineering Dual Catch Can Kit, the AOS (Air Oil Separator) kit is responsible for keeping blow-by oil and other pollutants out of the intake pipe, manifold, turbocharger, and intercooler during all engine loads. The main difference is that an AOS system returns what is collected back into the oil pan (as shown below) so there is no servicing required. The built-in heater keeps water from condensing in the AOS. And because water is more dense than oil, there is an integrated water trap found around the bottom perimeter of the can. This prevents water from descending into the oil pan if ever present. Furthermore, because the water is trapped against the heater, it will eventually boil and evaporate out of the system.

PLATFORM SPECIFICS
The catch cans are strategically located for compatibility with Right Hand Drive (RHD) and Left Hand Drive (LHD) variations. Some brake line clearancing is necessary on RHD installations. Both kits are also compatible with all current aftermarket forced induction kits. For mounting, the kits use factory bosses and holes in the vehicle. No cutting, drilling or permanent modification to the vehicle is required.

The two oil catch can kits are completely independent of each other and are sold individually or together. They do NOT vent to atmosphere (VTA), thus are emissions and track legal. Closed loop systems route clean filtered air back in through the engine to be burned and to promote negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance. Furthermore, closed systems prevent unwanted oil vapors into the cabin. Each kit includes:

The PCV kit mounts on the RH side of the engine bay.

This catch can runs inline with the 3/8" PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve. When the intake manifold pressure is close to or greater than atmospheric pressure, the PCV "check" valve closes and, thus, this hose experiences no flow. Conversely, the PCV hose will experience "metered" vacuum when the engine is idling, steady state cruising, and decelerating. This would normally draw unwanted crankcase vapor, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately after a high load run.

Note: Because the Radium catch cans are pressure sealed, they are great for boosted applications as well so connecting to the intake manifold is permitted.

The CCV kit mounts on the LH side of the engine bay.

This catch can runs inline with the 1/2" breather port. At low loads it experiences atmospheric pressure, but when the engine is at high load (WOT), this hose will experience vacuum and would normally be drawing unwanted crankcase vapors, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the air filter intake pipe. If the engine is turbocharged or supercharged and you are finding oil accumulation stuck in the intercooler, this catch can is a necessity as oil will lower the thermal efficiency properties of the heat exchange process.
