VAC Motorsports' Solid Transmission Mounts eliminate all flexing and mount failures that can occur due to movement in your drivetrain.

All mounts are beautifully machined from 6061 T6 billet aluminum in house at VAC. Completely QC'ed and ready to install.
Zero diflection means no slop, and exacting shifts when ripping up the track.

FAQ: Can these mounts be used on the street?
A: While these mounts are sold for track use, we have some customers who use these mounts on their street car. Extra noise and vibration will most certenly be present, and this is up to the vehicle owner to determine if they are right for you. This is more for a track car that will only drive rarely on the street.
Q:What about engine mounts?:
A: Upgraded engine mounts are to be used along with these trans mounts for best results. We do not recomend the stock mounts.

We recommend our "trick" adjustable transmission mount as it greatly reduces stress on the transmission and allows adjustment for ease of installation/removal.

Vibration/Motion Absorber

Stock, the Tranny Mount's first and foremost duty is to isolate vibration from the interior cabin.

With a solid mount for track cars, like our VAC Solid Aluminum Mounts, your interior cabin noise may increase to the point where it would be uncomfortable for a street car.

These UUC urethane mounts are also great for a track race car, but one that sees occasional use on normal roads.

Deflection Fighter

The tranny mount is also used to combat transmission "movement" during driving (HUGE for your BMW).

OEM BMW tranny mounts are a known weaknesses across the brand. They are known to cause everything from miss shifts & over revs, to physical chassis damage.

Since the transmission is connected to the back of the engine, it is the engine which is doing the twisting when one accelerates or decelerates (engine braking).

In a street situation, some movement is expected, however too much movement (like your aged OE mounts) will cause the transmission to become misaligned with the chassis of the car, or simply break apart all together. This is when failures and miss-shifts can occur, big bad- expensive news.

The Ideal Mount

Hundreds of drivers from daily driven cars to full track cars have gained the benefit of stiffer bushings with near elimination transmission movement.

Stronger than OE
- Ready for track or dual use vehicles
- Practically a must have for high powered cars with aggressive drivers
- Helps eliminate a known weakness
- Incorporates small notch required for certain models, including E46 330i/Ci 6-speed.

These red urethane bolt-through transmission mount bushings are the strongest choice that still absorbs vibration.

Highly recommended for all 6 cylinder models, a bit more vibration is transmitted on V8 models.

A single bolt through the entire piece eliminates the possibility of bushing material failure even under abusive conditions, and that's why this is our mount of choice.

Offers nearly the same drive train motion control as a solid delrin or aluminum mount, but with satisfactory vibration isolation to reduce vibratory stress on mechanical components and keep cabin occupants comfortable. Cabin vibrations are significantly lower than delrin/aluminum solid mounts, but is still noticeable vs OE rubber. Transmission mount enforcer cups not required with these pieces.

Upgraded trans mounts are best used with matching UUC Urethane or VAC Solid Aluminum mounts for best & most reliable results.

Hard driving, tracking and big power output can often exploit weaknesses with the E36/E46 chassis mounts- especially the engine and trans mounts.

Made of firm polyurethane, bolt through style, UUC's RACE engine and trans mounts offer a large reduction of unwanted play to the chassis suitable for most racing, yet still absorb a degree of vibration that many of our street customers find acceptable on their heavily modified cars.

You have an E30 M3 and you have not replaced your engine or transmission mounts? Then your engine and transmission mounts are definitely worn out!
Especially if you like to drive it hard or you track your car.

After 20 years, even low mileage cars have tired, oxidized rubber mounts, so, if your are not the type who drives hard or races your E30 M3 and still drive it on the street from time to time, these mounts are just the ticket. AKG's Poly Group N Motor and Trans Mount Set for the S14 is slightly stiffer (10 durometer points) than the BMW Group N rubber mounts. Now in Version-2, these AKG mounts feature their innovative registered interlocking system which makes mounts stiffer with less compromise of comfort, and does not allow for separation of the mount. New quantity manufacturing has brought the cost of this set down as well. The OEM BMW Group N mounts cost a whopping $800+ just for the engine! That makes this complete set of [4] a much better value.

This set offers what is needed by the hard E30 M3 driver: engine and transmission control. Cornering and cresting turns become more predictable, as the heft of the driveline is not changing the moment of inertia during steering. Ever Had problems where your car shifts fine at normal speeds, but becomes difficult under cornering or braking? That is severely worn engine and trans mounts causing misalignment and these firmer mounts fix this! Shifting the transmission becomes a sure-thing, reducing the chance of a miss shift or over-rev. Firm polyurethane and strong construction reduce the risk of a mount breaking and letting the engine tilt into the radiator (this does happen- and it's not pretty, especially on the track). These are simply a must-have for those that track their S14 regularly, what a difference. If you drive your S14 hard, and don't mind additional engine vibration in the cabin, then these are a great upgrade.

VAC Tech Tips:
While these mounts are available separately, we highly recommend always replacing the engine and trans mounts together in a set. Not doing so can cause the softer of the mounts to fatigue and fail, and doesn't provide the same level of performance. We highly recommend reinforcing the front subframe for use with strengthened engine mounts.
