Why does your BMW benefit from a shorter Gear ratio?
-Choosing to equip shorter gears means that your effective acceleration is improved by more torque getting to the ground in each gear, this comes with a varying compromise in top speed ability. This is an ideal upgrade for vehicles that see regular track use but going to 'tight' with your gear ratios may cause you to be shifting more often than is ideal and may reduce highway comfort on street cars.
REM Finishing: *
What Does REM offer my vehicle?
-REM finishing will offer the lowest level of friction where the Ring and Pinion gears mesh together. This is highly important in situations where the rear differential will see sustained high temps, like road or rally racing.
OE vs. performance LSDs?
The Factory BMW LSD is a great diff for stock power levels and standard size and grip tires... However, it falls quite short of an aftermarket LSD, like our VAC unit, or a Carbonetic. When you have big, wide sticky tires and serious power adders- more predictability and performance of an aftermarket unit offer a huge increase in control of the chassis, even for street cars. Ask us about upgrading to a performance LSD and be blown away by the difference in acceleration and handling capabilities as well as overall chassis response.

Let ONLY a qualified pro install or work on the internals of your differential; technicians & mechanics must be versed in the exact procedure of differential assembly to candidates for your install.
