Much faster than 2.5!
From Anonymous of ISTANBUL, Turkey on .
Your 2.7 crank is working fine! I have done almost 2000km with it.
It does not need a lot of clearance on the block. On the oil pump side I have a DTM style oil pump that have given me for more clearence. As for evo oil sprayers/block, I don't have them.
As a compression to my old setup, the new engine feels less aggressive and less rev happy then the 2.5 but it idles and revs more smoothly.
I am revving it to 7900. The torque begins 1k rpm earlier than the 2.5 but at the top end it ends earlier- I still have the factory 2.3 exhaust setup and it seems to be choked off.
I am planning on doing new exhaust and header next.
I haven't dynod the new setup yet but on the last track day it is almost 3sec quicker than my 2.5 time on a one minute track!
My Setup:
VAC S14 rods, 11.5:1 VAC/CP pistons, VAC +2mm intake/+1mm exhaust valves, Schrick 292/284, 50mm intake throttles, VAC Carbon fiber airbox kit
