Q: Is this cam a good match for my XXXX Supercharger kit? Stage 1 or Stage 2?
A: Yes, for any supercharger kit that you can edit the tune, or get an updated tune for from one of our partners for stage 1. Stage 1 camshaft typically offers power gains from 20-40WHP depending on boost level and supporting mods.
Stage 2 is new, and there is not a widely available library of tunes at this moment. Stage 2 is recommended for use with a custom dyno tune. Power gains are predominantly over the 5000RPM range with stage 2.
Q: Can I used these cams on a track car?
A: Many customers do. For track use, we only recommend that they are used with upgraded valve spring set along with new OE lifters. Stage 2 Must have upgraded springs and retainers even for street use.
Q: What would I need, Other than springs?
A: All cams should always be installed with new lifters. Beyond that, you should keep in mind that an ECU tune is what brings out the real power gains along with these cams. If you do not have the capability to have your ECU custom tuned on the dyno, or remotely tuned you will not realize the full gains possible.
Q: What is the drivability of this cam set?
A: Stage 1 has an idle and drivability feel very similar to a production car, keeping the great qualities of a supercharger kit intact. Stage 2 has a rougher idle and a tell tale sound to the exhaust but is still completely streetable.
Q: Will this give me maximum power?
A: Over the widest range of RPM, these camshafts build excellent power on supercharged engines. Stage 2 camshafts gain slightly more HP at close to redline, especially with higher boost levels. As camshafts get more aggressive, they have more time where both the intake and exhaust valves are open, called 'overlap'. This can lessen in-cylinder boost pressure as can be observed by a boost gage. For that reasons, we recommend our stage 1 up to 400-450WHP and Stage 2 for beyond
